Question by bluecell: Reopening bankruptcy to add creditors, accrued after original close date?
Hello. I filed a chapter 7 bankruptcy in Ohio in August 2007. The case was close without discharge in February 2008, as I failed to complete the financial management class. Since that time, I have accured new creditors. If I reopen the bankruptcy, can those new creditors be included as well? If not, should I just start the entire ordeal over? Please advise! Thanks!

Probably. Since you didn’t complete your financial management obligations, contact your attorney about reopening the case and adding more creditors. No doubt it will cost you extra but sounds like it was advantageous that you didn’t complete it. I don’t think you would be able to add them, had you finished the original class and dismissed the debts. Maybe a stroke of luck, huh? Worth 10 points?
